Frequently Asked Questions
Can't find your answer?
Contact UsWhat is the difference between a basket strainer and a Y strainer?
Basket strainers have a larger screen area and handle higher flow rates with less pressure drop. They are easier to clean without removing from the pipeline. Y strainers are more compact and suit smaller pipe sizes or applications with less debris.
What mesh size is included?
Standard mesh is 40 mesh (400 micron) in 304 stainless steel. This captures coarse debris and sediment while allowing high flow rates. Custom mesh sizes are available on request.
Can I use this strainer with diesel fuel?
Yes. Cast steel construction with FBE coating and stainless steel internals is fully compatible with diesel, petrol, kerosene, and most petroleum-based fluids.
How do I clean the basket screen?
Remove the lid bolts and lift out the basket screen. Clean with solvent or compressed air, inspect for damage, and reinstall. No need to remove the strainer body from the pipeline.
