There is no mandated frequency in AS1940 itself, but industry best practice is annually. Many insurers require annual compliance verification, and WorkSafe may request evidence of regular auditing during inspections. We recommend aligning your audit with your annual service visit.
We provide a detailed corrective action report with every failed item photographed and described. Most issues can be resolved during a follow-up service visit. For structural issues, we'll provide a remediation plan with costs and timelines. We re-audit after remediation to confirm compliance.
An audit is an inspection and documentation exercise — we assess and report on compliance status. A service includes physical maintenance work — filter changes, pump servicing, calibration, fuel conditioning. Many clients combine both in a single visit for efficiency.
Any site storing flammable or combustible liquids in quantities above the minor storage threshold (generally 250L for Class 3 liquids). This includes self bunded tanks, containerised fuel storage, above-ground storage tanks, and fuel dispensing systems. It's particularly critical for sites with WorkSafe obligations, insurance requirements, or ISO 14001 certification.
