How to Choose

1

Choose by capacity

GO BOX for portable and mid-range, GO STORE for permanent fleet depots, GO CON for bulk and remote sites.

2

No separate bunding

All tanks comply with AS1940 - no separate concrete bund required on most worksites.

3

Configure to suit

Bare tanks can be fitted with any combination of pumps, meters, filtration, and dispensing equipment.

4

Or go turnkey

Tank packages include everything pre-fitted and ready to deploy. Browse our standardised packages for the fastest turnaround.

ABOUT THIS RANGE

What is a self bunded tank?

A self bunded tank - sometimes called a double-walled tank - features an outer skin that holds at least 110% of the inner tank's capacity. If the inner tank ever leaks, the outer skin contains the spill. No separate concrete bund. No containment pad. It's the most practical, compliant approach to fuel storage on Australian worksites, and it's why self bunded tanks have become the default for everything from portable generator sets to permanent fuel depots.

Five ranges, one standard

Our self bunded tank range is built across five purpose-designed lines, each engineered for a different operational need:

GO BOX (250L–11,000L) - The workhorse. Portable, stackable, and UN31A/Y transport approved up to 3,300L. Certified crane lifting lugs rated for full tanks up to 6,600L, plus 4-way forklift pockets on every model. Built for sites that need fuel where the trucks can't reach.

GO STORE (5,500L–16,000L) - Permanent fleet refuelling in a compact footprint. The integrated pump bay protects your dispensing equipment from weather and keeps everything locked down. Ideal for transport depots, council yards, and construction laydown areas.

GO CON (12,000L–110,000L) - Containerised bulk storage in standard ISO footprints. CSC plated for intermodal transport by road, rail, and sea. Deployed across mining, defence, and remote community projects throughout Australia and internationally.

Fire Rated - Engineered to UL2085 and SwRI 95-03 for indoor installations and reduced-separation applications. Halves the separation distances required under Section 5 of AS1940-2017, giving you more flexibility in tight sites.

Fuel Trailers - Road-registered self bunded trailers for mobile refuelling. Available in 1,250L and 2,000L capacities with 12V solar or diesel-driven dispensing options.

Bare tank or fully packaged

Every GO Fill tank ships as a bare unit with all standard connections, suction spears, and return points installed. From there, you've got two options: configure it yourself with your preferred pumps, meters, filtration, and dispensing equipment - or choose one of our turnkey tank packages with everything pre-fitted and ready to deploy.

Our standardised packages pair each tank with quality dispensing equipment from Graco and Piusi, including pumps, flow meters, filtration, hose reels, and automatic nozzles. Delivered, installed, and commissioned to AS1940.

Built for Australian conditions

All GO Fill tanks are painted to AS N14 White Marine Specification for UV and corrosion resistance, and designed to handle the temperature extremes of Australian worksites. Every model complies with AS1940, AS1692, AS1170, AS4100, and AS1554.1 - with international certifications including UL142 and ULC-S601 where applicable.

Our Site Team handles delivery, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance across Australia. We also offer AS1940 compliance auditing, NMI dispenser calibration, tank integrity testing, and fuel hygiene services to keep your storage operating safely and within regulation.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need council approval to install a self-bunded tank in Australia?

In most Australian states, a self-bunded tank that meets AS1940 requirements can be installed without a development permit - but notification to your local fire authority is often required, particularly above 5,000L. Requirements vary by state, council and site classification. Our team can advise on the notification process for your location and help prepare any required AS1940 documentation.

What is the difference between a self-bunded tank and a single-skin tank?

A single-skin tank holds fuel in one steel shell with no built-in containment - a separate bunded compound or drip tray is required by AS1940 to capture spills. A self-bunded tank has a double-skin construction where the inner tank sits inside an outer shell, providing 110% secondary containment built into the tank itself. No separate bunding required, which significantly reduces site preparation costs and approval complexity.

What size self-bunded tank do I need for my fleet?

A useful starting point: calculate your weekly diesel consumption, then multiply by two for a minimum tank size. That gives you a two-week buffer - enough to avoid running dry between deliveries. For example, five vehicles averaging 200L per week each means 1,000L weekly consumption, so a 2,500L tank gives comfortable headroom. Our team can help you size accurately based on your fleet and delivery frequency.

Can a self-bunded tank be used for petrol storage?

Yes, but petrol storage has stricter requirements than diesel under AS1940. Petrol tanks require explosion-proof (EX-rated) pumps, earthing and bonding kits, and specific venting configurations to manage vapour. Standard diesel-configured self-bunded tanks are not automatically suitable for petrol. Contact our team to confirm the correct specification for petrol storage before purchasing - the wrong configuration creates a serious safety and compliance risk.

What pump and dispensing equipment do I need with a self-bunded tank?

Self-bunded tanks ship without a pump as standard - you choose the dispensing setup that suits your operation. For most fleet diesel applications, a 12V or 240V pump kit including pump, flow meter, hose reel and auto-shutoff nozzle is the starting point. If you need driver-level fuel accountability and cloud reporting, add an iFUEL fuel management system. We offer pre-configured tank packages that combine tank and dispensing equipment - or our team can specify components separately.

Not sure which tank suits your site?

Our team can recommend the right range, capacity, and configuration based on your operation.
