Our team was contacted by a customer facing a sudden failure in their refuelling setup. After initial diagnostics over the phone and a comprehensive on-site inspection, we identified that the submersible pump had seized.

The cause? The fuel tank had been run completely dry. Submersible pumps rely on the fluid they move for cooling and lubrication; without it, they overheat and eventually fail.

The Solution: A Heavy-Duty Replacement

Replacing a submersible pump isn’t a DIY job — it requires precision, safety protocols, and often, heavy machinery.

Here’s how our team tackled the job:

  1. Precision lifting: we coordinated a crane on-site to safely lift the Red Jacket submersible pump out of the tank. That let our technicians work on the unit at ground level for a safe, thorough replacement.
  2. Expert installation: once the pump was out, we replaced the failed unit on the brackets, making sure every seal and connection was secure.
  3. The re-install: the crane lowered the refurbished assembly back into the tank.
  4. Testing and validation: no job is complete until it’s tested. We ran the pump through its paces, confirming the customer’s refuelling infrastructure was back to 100%.
