Overview

What it does

During fast fills, liquid rushing into a tank compresses air and raises internal pressure. During pump-outs, liquid leaving creates a vacuum. If the tank cannot breathe, it can rupture under pressure or collapse under vacuum. This flange-mounted vent opens automatically at positive or negative pressure thresholds, then closes when conditions return to normal. No wiring, no operator intervention.

Key benefit

Where it fits

Bolts to DN200 flange openings on atmospheric fuel and chemical tanks. Common in bulk diesel depots, mine site fuel farms, chemical storage compounds, and agricultural tank installations. If your tank has a large flange opening at the top and you are moving product quickly, this is the safety device that prevents structural damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer?

Contact Us
What is the OPW emergency vent?

A DN200 flange-mounted pressure/vacuum relief valve that opens when atmospheric storage tanks experience over-pressure or vacuum during product transfer, preventing structural damage.

What tanks does this suit?

Atmospheric fuel tanks, chemical storage vessels, and bulk liquid tanks with DN200 flange openings. Commonly specified for diesel, petrol, oil, and water storage.

Does it require power or controls?

No. It is a passive mechanical vent that opens when pressure or vacuum exceeds the set point, then closes automatically when conditions normalise.

What is included in the kit?

Emergency vent body with integral valve mechanism. Flange gasket and bolts are typically supplied by the installer to match site specifications.

What warranty and support do you offer?

12-month manufacturer warranty on defects. Valve internals are service items. For technical questions or bulk orders, contact sales@goind.com.au or 07 3204 2240.
