Overview

What it does

If your fuel storage is in a Class I Division 1 or Zone 0/1 hazardous area, Australian Standards require intrinsically safe equipment or barriers. The OLE Gauge Barrier sits between your OLE tank probe and the display or control system, isolating the signal so energy levels in the hazardous zone stay below ignition thresholds. It turns a non-compliant gauge setup into a compliant one without replacing the entire system.

Key benefit

Who needs it

Underground fuel tanks, aviation refuelling sites, mining depots, marine facilities, and any location where flammable vapours can accumulate. If your site has a hazardous area classification and you're running OLE gauges, this barrier is what keeps you legal. It's not optional kit in those environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer?

Contact Us
What is the OLE Gauge Barrier?

An intrinsically safe interface module that allows OLE tank gauges to operate in hazardous areas by isolating signals between the probe and display circuits.

Do I need this if my fuel tank is not in a hazardous area?

No. The barrier is only required where the tank or gauge location is classified as Class I Division 1, Zone 0, or Zone 1 under Australian hazardous area standards.

Does this work with non-OLE gauges?

No. This barrier is designed specifically for OLE gauge probes and will not interface correctly with other brands.

Can I install this myself?

Installation in hazardous areas must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with intrinsically safe wiring practices and Australian Standards AS/NZS 60079.

What warranty and support is available?

12-month warranty covers manufacturing defects. For technical support or compliance queries, contact sales@goind.com.au or 07 3204 2240.
