A chemical paste that changes from tan to bright red when it contacts water in fuel. You smear it on a dipstick, dip the tank, and inspect for color change. Immediate visual confirmation of water contamination.
How much water will it detect?
Any water layer at the tank bottom will turn the paste red on contact. Even trace water at the dipstick tip shows up as a red streak. It won't quantify volume, but it will flag that water is present.
Does it work with biodiesel or E10 petrol?
Yes. The paste reacts to free water, not fuel chemistry. Biodiesel blends and ethanol fuels are fine. It will not react to fuel itself, only water.
How many tests does one tube give me?
Depends on how thick you spread it. A thin smear per dip is enough. One 3 oz tube typically covers 30 to 50 checks before you need a new one.
