Manual, reliable, no power needed
No motor, no solenoid, no battery pack. Pull tension winds the spring, gravity and friction do the rest. Fewer moving parts than a powered reel. If the swivel starts weeping or the hose cracks after years of UV, those parts swap out without pulling the whole assembly.
