Common Questions
What is a dry-break coupling?
A dry-break coupling (such as Banlaw) seals both sides of the connection when disconnected — preventing fuel spills during connect and disconnect. The coupling only opens when the nozzle and receiver are fully engaged. Used for tank filling where spill prevention is critical.
Why do I need static earthing?
Fuel flowing through pipes and hoses generates static electricity. Without earthing, static discharge can ignite fuel vapour during filling operations. Static earthing reels connect the delivery vehicle to the storage tank, providing a continuous earth path that dissipates static charge safely.
What is an overfill protection valve?
A mechanical valve installed in the tank fill line that closes when the tank reaches a preset fill level — physically preventing overfilling. Required under AS1940 for tanks above certain capacities. Available in DN40 and DN50 sizes.
