What Fuel Transfer Kits Deliver

A fuel transfer kit bundles pump, meter, delivery hose, auto nozzle, inlet filter and suction hardware into a single package. You get voltage-matched components rated for the same flow range and fuel type. This removes the guesswork from selecting individual parts and reduces the risk of flow bottlenecks or pressure mismatches. Kits suit workshop fuel stations, ute-mounted refuelling systems and portable bowser setups where installation time matters.

12V DC Kits

12V kits run from vehicle batteries or standalone 12V supplies. Flow rates typically range from 40 to 60 litres per minute. Common in mobile service trucks, agricultural refuelling trailers and remote site applications where mains power is unavailable. Pumps are self-priming and handle inlet lifts up to 2 metres. Most kits include a mechanical or electronic meter, 4-metre delivery hose and automatic shut-off nozzle.

240V AC Kits

240V kits deliver higher flow rates, usually 60 to 80 litres per minute, and suit fixed workshop installations or trailer bowsers with generator backup. Pump motors are rated for continuous duty and handle higher viscosity diesel in cold conditions. Kits include inlet strainer, outlet filter, meter and delivery hose. Some variants include mounting brackets for wall or tank installation.

What's Included

Standard kit components: pump with integral or bolt-on motor, mechanical or digital meter, inlet strainer or suction filter, delivery hose (typically 4 metres), automatic nozzle with spout, suction pipe or spear for tank insertion, hose clamps and basic fittings. Some kits include a mounting plate or bracket. Check individual kit specifications for exact inclusions and confirm compatibility with your tank type and fuel.

Can I use a 12V kit on a 1000-litre diesel tank?

Yes, if the tank has a top opening for the suction spear and you can accept the lower flow rate. A 12V kit at 40-60 LPM will take 17-25 minutes to dispense 1000 litres. If you refuel multiple vehicles daily, a 240V kit at 80 LPM cuts that to 12 minutes and reduces motor duty cycle.

Do kits include hose reels?

Most standard kits supply loose hose. Hose reels are available separately and can be added to any kit. Manual reels suit light-duty use; spring rewind or motorised reels work better for high-frequency refuelling. Contact us if you need a reel specified to match your kit's hose diameter and length.

Are these kits approved for petrol?

Some kits are diesel-only; others are rated for both diesel and petrol. Check the product page for fuel compatibility. Petrol kits use explosion-proof motors and conductive hoses to meet Australian Standard AS1940. If you dispense both fuels, you need separate dedicated kits to avoid cross-contamination.

What warranty applies to fuel transfer kits?

Warranty terms depend on the pump manufacturer - typically 12 months for pumps and meters, 6 months for hoses and nozzles. Failures due to contaminated fuel, incorrect voltage or overpressure are not covered. Keep inlet filters clean and replace them per the maintenance schedule to protect pump internals.
